Hryanskim (김성문) was born in Syracuse, NY and moved to Seoul, South Korea when he was 3 years old. He
attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he graduated with a B.F.A. in Illustration. He currently
works out of Seoul, South Korea.
His work spans a multitude of genres and techniques, from surreal acrylic paintings to humorous animal illustrations
and intricate pen and ink drawings. He draws inspiration from the natural world, pop surrealism, bold colors from
traditional American tattoos, and the intricate line work of irezumi. His work is unapologetic and in-your-face, often
times focusing on popular culture, psychology, or mythology.
