버거소녀

이번 전시에서는 나의 딸들의 어린 시절 모습을 캐릭터 한 소녀를 등장시킨다.
두 딸은 3월과 5월에 태어났다.

나의 딸들을 보면 봄이 떠오른다.
어린 시절 아빠와 함께 동화책을 보며 잠들었던 아이들을 보며
문득 내가 직접 만든 동화를 선물해 주고 싶은 마음이 들었다.
그래서 태어난 ‘봄날의 버거소녀’
버거소녀는 햄버거를 제일 좋아한다.

버거소녀는 엄마가 많이 먹지 못하게 하는 햄버거를 마음껏 먹는 게 꿈인 아이다.
버거소녀는 매일 밤 기도를 드렸다. 그러던 어느 날 아침에 꼬불꼬불 곱슬머리 속에서 햄버거외계인이 나타나 놀라운 경험들을 하게 된다.
아이에게 햄버거만큼 좋은 새로운 꿈들과 크고 넓은 우주를 보여주기 위한 하나님의 선물이었다.

스토리텔링과 캐릭터를 다듬어 딸들에게 동화책으로 선물하려고 한 것이 벌써 20년이 되어간다.
어느덧 성인이 된 큰딸의 새로운 꿈을 만들어갈 첫 봄날에
이번 전시회가 딸들에게도 작은 선물이 되기를 바란다.
나의 작품들을 통해 그녀들이 행복하고 따뜻한 마음으로 세상을 바라볼 수 있기를 기대한다.

Walking into happy spring

Burger Girl

In this exhibition, a girl who is a character of my daughters' childhood appears.
The two daughters were born in March and May.
Looking at my daughters reminds me of spring.

Looking at the children who fell asleep while reading fairy tales with their father in their childhood
Suddenly, I felt the urge to present a fairy tale I made myself.
Thus, the ‘Spring Day Burger Girl’ was born.
Burger Girl likes hamburgers the most.
Burger Girl is a child whose dream is to eat as many burgers as her mother forbids her to eat.

Burger Girl prayed every night. Then, one morning, a hamburger alien appears in her wavy hair and has amazing experiences.
It was God's gift to show the child new dreams and a big and wide universe that are as good as a hamburger.

It has already been 20 years since I tried to present the storytelling and characters as a children's book to my daughters.
On the first spring day to create a new dream for my eldest daughter who has become an adult
I hope this exhibition will be a small gift for my daughters as well. I hope that through my works, they will be able to look at the
world with a happy and warm heart.
