Born in Seoul, in 1953, the city where he lives and works. He studied Business Administration in Korea and, later,
Photography, in Germany. His work explores the passage of time, capturing still and fragile moments attempting to
reveal the unseen breath of life. Since 2004, Koo has photographed traditional Korean ceramics which highlights the

simplistic beauty of the Joseon dynasty.
His works have been exhibited at numerous galleries and museums including Samsung Rodin Gallery, Seoul (2001),
Peabody Essex Museum, Massachusetts (2002), Camera Obscura, Paris (2004), Philadelphia Museum of Art,
Philadelphia (2010), Ivorypress, Madrid (2013), Three Shadows Photography Art Centre, Beijing (2021) and many.
